Concave Football Boots

If you aren’t aware of Concave Football Boots (and you may not be), they are the brainchild of an Australian who wanted to build a new gimmick into a football boot in the same way Craig Johnston did many years ago with Adidas’ help with the Predator. The main idea behind the boot is a raised section where the laces sit, which is shaped to fit around a football, hence giving you a large sweet spot when striking the ball.

Since launching this year, Concave have had a lot of PR which is normally surprising for a new brand, but it seems they are taking it seriously and want to eventually become one of the manufacturers well known for their boots rather than a niche company.

We’re not overly sold on the idea of these boots as it seems too far away from what a football boot should offer, but then we havn’t tried them and in reality it may not be as bad as it seems. They have done very well to get as good coverage as they have recently, and if you have had the chance to try these out then please let us know in the comment section below! One thing we are pretty sure of, and that is that this is almost certainly version 1 of the concave boots - there will be refinements that you can make and a few versions down the line they may not stand out as much, or they may have inspired other companies to do something similar!
